Technical Articles for Facility Managers

by Carole Lucido on October 24, 2012

Have you ever thought about sharing a tip, best practice, or new idea for managing buildings, plants, or facilities?

If you have, why not share it with the AFE Silicon Valley Chapter.  As editor of the award-winning AFE Silicon Valley Chapter newsletter, I am always looking for new technical content that would be interesting to AFE members.

Zach Denning of Controlco, and also a new AFE 39 Board Member, submitted an article that was published in August, 2012 on using wireless networks for building automation. Zach shared both the advantages and disadvantages along with suggestions to improve reliability, flexibility, and control costs.

We published an article on High-Tech Water Treatment Processes in October of 2010, that detailed the success Fallbrook Public Utility District had disinfecting water in the Red Mountain Reservoir using ultraviolet light. (Thank you to S&C Electric Company for the article.)

Articles like these are practical ways the AFE can help facility professionals in our careers. If you have an idea, or an article, please respond to this post!
