Facilities Handbook

Facilities Operations Engineering Reference

An important technical and management handbook that was co-produced by AFE and corporate member company R.S. Means Company of Kingston, Massachusetts, is now available.

"Facilities Operations and Engineering Reference" is the official reference for the Certified Plant Engineer program because it provides the technical information needed for the instruction and exam. In addition, it’s an indispensable reference for anyone managing any sort of facility.

As described in the introduction: "Facility engineers and managers come from a variety of backgrounds and different levels of technical expertise. Some, such as the AFE Certified Plant Engineers, are trained in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering, and are often Registered Professional Engineers as well. Others have concentrated on business and finance. Whatever their academic training, facilities managers and engineers require a tremendous range of knowledge to effectively manage a facility’s assets. This book is designed to help fill the information needs of facilities professionals at all levels of knowledge, and to improve communications by bridging the gaps between technical experts, managers and administrators.

The quality of the book’s contents is assured. Of its 18 contributors; 12 of them hold our highly respected CPE credential. Many of them also are leaders on AFE’s national certification board.

"Facilities Operations & Engineering Reference" is a 729-page, fully indexed hardback book. Its text is supplemented with numerous black-and-white illustrations and tables.
