AFE39 Chapter

Honored

with

Distinguished Facilities Award

The Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association for Facilities Engineers Chapter 39 has been named

2019 AFE Developing the Next Generation Award Honoree

by the National Board of Directors of AFE

“The AFE Honors™ recognizes the achievements made by facilities management professionals in the field as well as the contributions FMs make to the communities in which they live around the globe.  [We]…would like to formally recognize the work your chapter has done over the last year as a model in developing the next generation of FM thought leaders for others to follow.”

For the past 57 years the Chapter has held the annual

Day with a Facilities Professional #DWFP

which provides opportunities for Northern California college students to shadow a facilities manager or facilities engineer for an afternoon at a major Silicon Valley company.

The afternoon is followed by an educational panel discussing careers in facilities and building operations, and for the past several years it has been hosted by

Juniper Networks.

This year’s event had over 85 students paired with facilities managers at over a dozen companies.

This award will be accepted at the

2019 AFE Building Automation & Cyber Security FM Forum (BACS 2019) on Thursday, September 26th in Washington, DC.
